Trauma to the spine can lead to devastating presentations such as sudden onset weakness of arms and legs in addition to back or neck pain. Often spinal trauma results after a fall from height or a road side accident. Proper and timely management of spinal trauma is not only necessary to prevent secondary neurological deficits but also to provide the patient with proper nursing care/rehabilitation. With proper rehabilitation patients with complete loss of power below the level of spinal injury can also lead a near normal life.
